Happy First Birthday To Us!

On January 13, we turned one year old! It’s been a wonderful year of watching our artists create, exhibit, and sell their art. I feel so lucky to be witness to their work, and I’m excited for many more years of Creation Studio.

Reese, the first artist to join our program, at the studio a little less than a year ago drawing his hand. He had injured his dominant hand right around the time we opened, so the first few months with us, he did all his work with his left hand. It didn’t compromise his art’s quality at all – he’s pretty amazing!

One of Happy’s first drawings with us. Happy is the second artist who joined our program. Her depictions of nature and dark markings create such beautiful abstract pieces!

I can’t believe it’s been a year since we opened our doors. What a transformative year it has been for all of us in our art processes. As some of you know, I’m a photographer, but watching our artists paint and draw has inspired me to begin learning how to draw. If it weren’t for our artists, I probably never would have ventured outside of photography. I’m very thankful for them, and for all of you!
